Sixth grade analyzed their facial proportions from either a photograph or real life. After adding value, they filled the space around themselves with symbols that represent their interests and who they are.

Sixth graders came up with a mantra or resolution for the new year (2016) and used different typography and watercolor techniques to achieve their results.
Op art, also known as optical art, is a style of visual art that uses optical illusions. Students used markers or colored pencils to achieve this effect.
As a part of our Middle Years Program, sixth graders across electives worked on projects that contributed to an Empty Bowls event after school to raise money for Amman Imman. Both sixth graders in art this trimester and teachers created ceramic bowls using plastic molds and glazed them for donation. Together we raised over $900!
Students looked at various clay containers over time and in different in cultures including Egyptian canopic jars and Greek vessels. Then they studied different advertisements and packaging for different products and redesigned a new product package to brainstorm different container ideas. They designed a clever container that will both be functional and design conscious out of clay.
