Sixth graders selected a book they enjoyed reading and designed a new cover for it. Looking at artists like Mikey Burton and Henri Matisse for inspiration, students used cut paper method to create clear, clean symbols.
Students looked at various clay containers over time and in different in cultures including Egyptian canopic jars and Greek vessels. Then they studied different advertisements and packaging for different products and redesigned a new product package to brainstorm different container ideas. They designed a clever container that will both be functional and design conscious out of clay.
